Know Your Sewing Machine • June 6

Let us help you put your sewing machine to good use instead of just collecting dust in a corner. This class is perfect for anyone who doesn’t know where to start--whether your machine is new out of the box or one that you found at a yard sale, join us to learn how to properly thread your machine, wind bobbins, select stitches and perform basic routine maintenance to keep your machine running smoothly. Students will sew a 5" x 5" inch pincushion while learning about their machine.

* Please note: The machine must be in IN GOOD WORKING ORDER which in some cases may require professional servicing before taking this class. PLEASE HAVE THE MAKE AND MODEL NUMBER OF YOUR MACHINE AVAILABLE WHEN YOU REGISTER--the instructor needs this information ahead of class to provide students with the best experience. Email cstose@577foundation.org with any questions.

Instructor: Sue Magdich
Sue worked for a local sewing shop for ten years where she mastered the use of many makes and models of sewing machines. Over the past fifteen years she has created many T-shirt quilts and memory quilts, costumes, reupholstering projects, has upcycled jeans into purses, skirts into scarves, and embellished jean jackets with new embroidery. Sue's goal is to share her passion with others in the hope that they will discover their inner artist.

REFUND POLICY:

Important Considerations: As a small non-profit organization, we strive to keep class sizes small and affordable. Please only register for classes you will be able to attend, and reserve cancellations for emergencies and illnesses. Even with the waitlist that we offer for most classes, when you cancel out of a class, the other excited potential participants may have made other plans because the class is full.

This refund policy was established to honor 577's Instructors, to respect the time and energy they invest in preparing for each class, and to encourage class participants to weigh their class registrations carefully and in balance with other potential participants.

If you choose to withdraw from a class, the refund policies are as follows:

Refund via the Original Method of Payment ~ Credit Card, Cash, or Check*:
>>> 100% refund with seven (7) or more business days’ notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee.
>>> 50% refund with three (3) to six (6) business days' notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.)
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations two (2) business days prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.)

Refund via Household Credit to use on another class at a future date*:
>>> 100% refund as a Household Credit with seven (7) or more business days’ notice prior to the start of class.
>>> 50% refund as a Household Credit with three (3) to six (6) business days' notice prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund.)
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations two (2) business days prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund via Household Credit.)

*Exceptions may be made to this policy in extreme circumstances. Please contact us to discuss options for cancellation in the event of illness or emergency.

**Once a refund is processed as a Household Credit, you may not request a refund via a credit card, cash, or check at a later date.

Donations: In lieu of a refund, you may request your registration fee be donated back to 577 to support future educational programming and a scholarship fund designed to make classes available to all.
