Create Your Own Shoe ~ Youth Pottery: Ages 8-17

Join us in May for a clay class perfect for your kiddo who loves shoes! Each child should pick out their favorite shoes and bring them to class. Then, with guidance from Emily, your pottery class instructor, each child will build one shoe drawing inspiration from the real thing.

Class time will be spent constructing their shoe and then using underglazes to paint their completed sculpture. After a bisque fire, Emily will dip each in a clear glaze creating a shiny finish and durability. Once completed, your child will love all the ways it can be used: admire it on a bookshelf or mantle, plant it with a house plant or flowers, or it will definitely make a stylish pen/pencil holder.

Pickup will be scheduled for two to three weeks later. Each child will receive a notification via email. No experience is necessary. Come play in the clay!

This class is open to children ages 8 to 17. No prerequisite or experience is required.

Please note: Adults are not required to attend youth pottery classes. Students may be dropped off at the beginning of class and picked up at the scheduled end time. Please remember to be on time.

REFUND POLICY:

Important Considerations: As a small non-profit organization, we strive to keep class sizes small and affordable. Please only register for classes you will be able to attend, and reserve cancellations for emergencies and illnesses. Even with the waitlist that we offer for most classes, when you cancel out of a class, the other excited potential participants may have made other plans because the class is full.

This refund policy was established to honor 577's Instructors, to respect the time and energy they invest in preparing for each class, and to encourage class participants to weigh their class registrations carefully and in balance with other potential participants.

If you choose to withdraw from a class, the refund policies are as follows:

Refund via the Original Method of Payment ~ Credit Card, Cash, or Check*:
>>> 100% refund with seven (7) or more business days’ notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee.
>>> 50% refund with three (3) to six (6) business days' notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.)
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations two (2) business days prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.)

Refund via Household Credit to use on another class at a future date*:
>>> 100% refund as a Household Credit with seven (7) or more business days’ notice prior to the start of class.
>>> 50% refund as a Household Credit with three (3) to six (6) business days' notice prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund.)
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations two (2) business days prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund via Household Credit.)

*Exceptions may be made to this policy in extreme circumstances. Please contact us to discuss options for cancellation in the event of illness or emergency.

**Once a refund is processed as a Household Credit, you may not request a refund via a credit card, cash, or check at a later date.

Donations: In lieu of a refund, you may request your registration fee be donated back to 577 to support future educational programming and a scholarship fund designed to make classes available to all.
