Cardmaking: Stamp Camp • August 2

Explore "out of the box" ideas for your hand-stamped cards at Stamp Camp! Participants will have fun experimenting with project designs and elements, adding a variety of doodles and line art, cutting papers, and trying fun folds and new techniques. You'll also have some options for personalizing the sentiments in your cards. Each participant will receive lots of support and step-by-step instructions to create 5 cards. Everyone will also take home extra papers and a PDF tutorial to practice their new skills.

Although having previous card class/card making or paper crafting experience is helpful, those new to the art of card making are welcome. This weekend’s Stamp Camp sessions on August 2nd and 3rd will offer the same projects in each class. Students are welcome to sign up for both sessions if they want to create more cards using the same materials and techniques.

Please note: All supplies included, but we recommend you bring a fine-tip black Sharpie or journaling pen and a paper trimmer if you have one. Cards made in class may be different than those in the photo.

Instructor: Chris Smith
Chris Smith, has been teaching Hand Stamped Cards & Papercraft classes at The 577 Foundation for over 15 years! She recently retired from the field of education after 34 years of teaching high school Family & Consumer Science and as a middle school counselor in Northwest Ohio. Chris has always enjoyed a variety of crafts and was introduced to the art of rubber stamping about 20 years ago. Based on the nature of the craft and her love for interacting with people and teaching skills, it didn’t take long for Chris to start teaching paper crafting classes, more specifically card making, to small groups of people. Upon retiring, Chris & her husband moved to Petoskey, MI, but she returns quarterly to visit friends & family, to teach classes, and stay connected with the community.

REFUND POLICY:

Important Considerations: As a small non-profit organization, we strive to keep class sizes small and affordable. Please only register for classes you will be able to attend, and reserve cancellations for emergencies and illnesses. Even with the waitlist that we offer for most classes, when you cancel out of a class, the other excited potential participants may have made other plans because the class is full.

This refund policy was established to honor 577's Instructors, to respect the time and energy they invest in preparing for each class, and to encourage class participants to weigh their class registrations carefully and in balance with other potential participants.

If you choose to withdraw from a class, the refund policies are as follows:

Refund via the Original Method of Payment ~ Credit Card, Cash, or Check*:
>>> 100% refund with seven (7) or more business days’ notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee.
>>> 50% refund with three (3) to six (6) business days' notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.)
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations two (2) business days prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.)

Refund via Household Credit to use on another class at a future date*:
>>> 100% refund as a Household Credit with seven (7) or more business days’ notice prior to the start of class.
>>> 50% refund as a Household Credit with three (3) to six (6) business days' notice prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund.)
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations two (2) business days prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund via Household Credit.)

*Exceptions may be made to this policy in extreme circumstances. Please contact us to discuss options for cancellation in the event of illness or emergency.

**Once a refund is processed as a Household Credit, you may not request a refund via a credit card, cash, or check at a later date.

Donations: In lieu of a refund, you may request your registration fee be donated back to 577 to support future educational programming and a scholarship fund designed to make classes available to all.
