Summer Meditation & Restorative Sound • Aug 23

Relax into your weekend by joining us to experience the benefits of vibrational sound and meditation. Receive gentle guidance to unwind through focused breathing and meditation exercises. We'll then relax onto yoga mats to experience the calming effects of listening to highly resonant, immersive sounds from various instruments including crystal bowls. These sound vibrations, or sound “bathing”, promote a meditative state, allowing thoughts to quiet and the body to relax.

Leave class with an understanding of how this practice can be beneficial and how to incorporate vibrational sound into your own self-care practice.

All supplies are included (yoga mats, blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows) but students are welcome to bring their own pillows and any other props for personal comfort. It is also recommended to dress warmly since bodies tend to cool as they relax.

*Please note: a limited number of soft furniture is available if some students would prefer to sit comfortably for the second part of the class. Please call the 577 Program Manager at 419-874-4174 to reserve these spots.

Community Instructor: Pam Bortz

Pam Bortz is a retired surgical RN, an active Massage Therapist for 30 years, and a certified Yoga and Sound Therapist . Her love of nursing and massage led her to notice how many people had difficulty with simple movements that could make their bodies feel better, younger, and more comfortable. Pam has been practicing yoga most of her life and has taught it for the past 18 years, where her goal is to help others be comfortable in their bodies with movement, appreciate the calmness the breath can give, and attain the deep meditative mind that connects the full picture of a Yoga practice.

REFUND POLICY:

Important Considerations: As a small non-profit organization, we strive to keep class sizes small and affordable. Please only register for classes you will be able to attend, and reserve cancellations for emergencies and illnesses. Even with the waitlist that we offer for most classes, when you cancel out of a class, the other excited potential participants may have made other plans because the class is full.

This refund policy was established to honor 577's Instructors, to respect the time and energy they invest in preparing for each class, and to encourage class participants to weigh their class registrations carefully and in balance with other potential participants.

If you choose to withdraw from a class, the refund policies are as follows:

Refund via the Original Method of Payment ~ Credit Card, Cash, or Check*:
>>> 100% refund with seven (7) or more business days’ notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee.
>>> 50% refund with three (3) to six (6) business days' notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.)
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations two (2) business days prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.)

Refund via Household Credit to use on another class at a future date*:
>>> 100% refund as a Household Credit with seven (7) or more business days’ notice prior to the start of class.
>>> 50% refund as a Household Credit with three (3) to six (6) business days' notice prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund.)
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations two (2) business days prior to the start of class. (If we can fill your spot with another participant, you will receive a 100% refund via Household Credit.)

*Exceptions may be made to this policy in extreme circumstances. Please contact us to discuss options for cancellation in the event of illness or emergency.

**Once a refund is processed as a Household Credit, you may not request a refund via a credit card, cash, or check at a later date.

Donations: In lieu of a refund, you may request your registration fee be donated back to 577 to support future educational programming and a scholarship fund designed to make classes available to all.
