Youth Pottery: Make Your Own Monster (Ages: 7-17)

Get ready for some monstrously fun creativity! In this playful youth pottery class, kids will learn how to make their own pinch pot clay monster using simple handbuilding techniques.

577 Pottery Coordinator Alison will guide kiddos through a step-by-step demonstration on forming the monster’s body and sculpting fun features like eyes, teeth, tongues, horns, and more. Once their creatures are complete, kids can choose to paint their monsters with colorful underglazes or select a studio glaze for a shiny finish.

This class is a wonderful way for young artists to explore imagination and self-expression while learning basic pottery skills. Finished monsters will be glazed and fired by staff, and families will receive an email when pieces are ready for pickup, typically two to three weeks after class.

Important Class Notes: This class is open to children ages 7 to 17. No prior pottery experience is required. Youth Pottery Classes are designed to be drop-off classes to support the creative process. Adult guardians will be asked to drop students off at the beginning of class and return at the scheduled end time for pickup. This allows young artists to fully engage, explore, and create independently. Please remember to arrive on time for both drop-off and pick-up.

577 Cancellation & Refund Policy

Each month, 577 offers a wide variety of class topics with small class sizes. Because space is limited, we rely on you to register for classes thoughtfully.

Life brings many surprises to us all and sometimes people must cancel their class reservations. Please help us continue to offer these wonderful classes as affordably as possible by adhering to the following registration, cancellation, and refund policies listed below in the notes section.

Please see our website for the full policies.

Note:

We’re excited to welcome you to class. Please note that doors will open no earlier than 20 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows our instructors time to prepare and ensures the best experience for everyone.

Youth Pottery Classes are designed to be drop-off classes to support the creative process. Adult guardians will be asked to drop students off at the beginning of class and return at the scheduled end time for pickup. This helps young artists fully engage, explore, and create independently.

Please remember: This class is for registered participants only ages 7 to 17. Additional guests, including siblings, family members, and friends, cannot attend or observe.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you soon!

REFUND POLICY:

Important Considerations: As a small non-profit organization, we strive to keep class sizes small and affordable. Please only register for classes you will be able to attend, and reserve cancellations for emergencies and illnesses. Even with the waitlist that we offer for most classes, when you cancel out of a class, the other excited potential participants may have made other plans because the class is full.

This refund policy was established to honor 577's Instructors, to respect the time and energy they invest in preparing for each class, and to encourage class participants to weigh their class registrations carefully and in balance with other potential participants.

If you choose to withdraw from a class, the refund policies are as follows:

Refund via the Original Method of Payment ~ Credit Card, Cash, or Check*:
>>> 100% refund with seven (7) or more days’ notice prior to the start of class, less a 5% administrative fee.
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellation six (6) days prior to the start of class. Exception: If we can fill your spot with another participant, you may elect to receive a 100% refund, less a 5% administrative fee.

Refund via Household Credit to use on another class at a future date*:
>>> 100% refund as a Household Credit with seven (7) or more days’ notice prior to the start of class.
>>> No refunds will be given for cancellations six (6) days prior to the start of class. Exception: If we can fill your spot with another participant, you may elect to receive a 100% refund via Household Credit.

*Exceptions may be made to this policy in extreme circumstances. Please contact us to discuss options for cancellation in the event of illness or emergency.

**Once a refund is processed as a Household Credit, you may not request a refund via a credit card, cash, or check at a later date.

Donations: In lieu of a refund, you may request your registration fee be donated back to 577 to support future educational programming and a scholarship fund designed to make classes available to all.
